From beginner-friendly taster classes to one-to-one coaching sessions and multi-week courses, these small group offerings allow beginner and advanced potters to find their creative flow at the pottery wheel in a relaxed and mindful setting.
Are you a true beginner who has never touched clay? Perhaps you’ve taken a few classes but aren’t sure your hands remember what to do? Or you’re a seasoned maker, ready to take your throwing practice to the next level?
Wherever you are in your ceramics practice, I’ll meet you there.
For anyone who has dreamed of trying the pottery wheel, this beginner-friendly 1.5 hour class is a perfect introduction. It’s an opportunity to slow down, put your hands in clay, and connect to your creativity in a serene, relaxed setting.
Classes take place in my bright studio in a leafy neighbourhood of central Athens. Taught in small groups, the vibes are gentle and restorative — a little oasis of creative calm amid the city’s energy.
No prior experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands muddy.

What to expect:
Warm, inclusive and welcoming studio with tools and materials provided.
Step-by-step demonstration of centering, opening, and pulling and shaping clay on the pottery wheel.
90 minutes of guided wheel time with instruction tailored to your needs.
Individual attention: adjustments and tips tailored to you.
Time to throw two or three pieces during the class.
Glazing and kiln firing of one finished piece (pick-up or shipping options available).*
Language of tuition is English or French.
How to book you experience:

Choose a date and time from the calendar below and submit the booking form. You’ll receive a confirmation email with practical details.
If the available times don’t suit you, contact me and I’ll do my best to accommodate your schedule.
*You will choose the colours and finishes for your pot from a selection of studio glazes at the end of your class. If you would like to fire more than one piece there will be an additional charge of 15 euro/piece to cover my time and materials.
For absolute beginners or those who’ve had a few classes and want to refresh their skills and nurture their confidence. This multi-week course is designed to teach the foundational techniques needed to work with clay on the pottery wheel.
Over the six weeks you will gain the core skills and knowledge needed to take a thrown piece all the way from the pottery wheel through to a finished form.
What you’ll learn:
Core wheel skills: Wedging and centring techniques adapted to your individual anatomy. Opening, pulling and shaping techniques, including open (e.g. bowls) and closed (e.g. bottles) forms. Trimming skills for refining bases and forms.
Basic hand-building techniques: Variety of methods for forming and attaching handles, as well as for introducing different textures and finishes to your surfaces in preparation for firing.
Introduction to glazing: Key decorative techniques for applying glazes to your pots.
Course format and duration:
15 hours of tuition, delivered in 6 × 2.5-hour sessions.
Small-group (maximum two students per session) for focused, attentive teaching and a calm learning environment.
Thoughtfully designed course curriculum, which nurtures your skills and confidence through step-by-step repetition and progression.
Trauma-aware and person-centred approach to teaching, focused on mind-body connection and breath.
Hands-on sessions paced to suit individual needs while covering all core wheel-throwing skills.
Classes are taught in English or French.
By the end of your course, you will:
Be able to throw and trim basic shapes on the wheel with confidence.
Understand the fundamentals of how to work with clay through the different stages of the ceramics process, all the way from throwing to glazing.
Have made a beautiful collection of 8-12 pots to take home. As we only use high-quality stoneware and durable glazes in the studio all your pieces will be food safe and microwave/dishwasher friendly.

Once you’ve completed your Foundations course, it’s time to practice, practice, practice.
Spending time with your hands in clay in a setting which nurtures your confidence and creativity, is the best way to find your own flow at the pottery wheel. If you’ve recently completed the Foundations course at my studio or have already have some experience at the wheel but would like to reconnect with your practice, studio access is the next step for you.
